There are a variety of reference materials that can be collected and how is only limited by your imagination. Considerations will be particular to your needs, interests, personal preferences and ease of retrieval. An artist that is interested in how crowds look as they move may collect materials, images and find inspiration differently from the artist that explores

Sketchbooks are probably the most important tool that an artist can use. They are essential to capturing ideas as they occur before becoming forgotten and lost forever. They are useful for experimenting with new media and fleshing out visual ideas and compositions.

Fun sometimes meant going to see movies, to bike shops, or to a favorite coffee shop in Lafayette. My absolute favorite thing to do was going on road trips.
