Karen's Studio Blog
Greetings and salutations,
This is painted from a photo I took from the South Boulder Creek Trail back in the mid- to late 90’s when I worked for NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research). My husband and I got up early on a Saturday morning with danishes and a thermos of hot tea to hike and have breakfast somewhere along the trail. We still lived in Denver at the time so just getting there took time and effort. But so worth it. I think this is the third painting I have done from this photograph. Time can stand still in photographs while the river of change washes over everything outside of it. One of the biggest changes since the original photo was taken might be the experimental wind farm that would be visible above the ridgeline.
Take care and have a beautiful day,
