Last week I was hunting around in my office for a three ring binder for a class I’m taking. I have quite the collection of these and most are in use. There was a bunch on a bookcase that were obviously in use but had no information on the spine as to what they might contain. So I pulled one after another off the shelf to see what was inside.

This Sunday, September 23, is the first full day of autumn. After the recent record breaking heat, I am ready for cooler temperatures. I am not ready for snow or putting the garden to rest for the year since it seems like the garden is really coming into its full summer glory now.

Whenever I paint florals I can’t help but think of Georgia O’Keeffe and her beautiful floral paintings. She is one of my early artistic influences and I dearly love her work.

These two still life paintings were inspired from a dream I had about wanting to paint apricots again. Apricots and plums were in season so I had both on hand for snacking and painting last year.
